Released Alpha -2a
First major update version! Was originally intended to be Alpha -1c, but it gradually turned into a new major update with the Main Menu, Viktor, and Math Notebook changes.
Main Menu Changes
- Recoded a majority of the Main Menu code.
- Fixed being able to select paper buttons during the Start, Translation, or Keybind screens.
- Added a version number UI element to the main menu for easy version recognition purposes.
- Fixed an oversight where the test button for the new-old main menu prototype still had functionality despite being invisible.
- Added a difficulty spec to Puss Mode (in the selector menu), clarifying it is broken.
- I am aware the doors after Notebook 1 are broken (at least for Math, prob Language as well).

- The fix would be easy, but I removed items being removed in Puss Mode, so it'd be very easy to get certain achievements / items.
- Adjusted difficulty specs panel position to not trail off the screen.
Gameplay Changes
- Revamped some portions of the Math Notebook code to be more optimal.
- Added new equations: Exponents and square roots.
- Only encountered in Hard (not often) and Brainiac (gg...)
- Tip: Square root's effected number is the first one, the second is the power of it (always 2 right now).
- Tip 2: Use PEMDAS, Exponents / Sqrts → Division / Multiply → Add / Subtract
- Rebalanced all difficulties' math notebook stats.
- Division problems now always use a number that can divide the previous number into a whole number, as well as no longer stack.
- Also works the same with the new equation types.
- Truncate is not really useful anymore unless the game breaks and gives you a decimal answer somehow.
- The beep sound during corrupted questions has randomization to it now. If you're lucky enough, you can get RNG that makes it sound like the original.
- Added new equations: Exponents and square roots.
- Reworked how Viktor decrements his walk interval:
- Corrupt questions, aside from a direct value nerf (0.45 → 0.4), experience no change.
- Answerable questions now have 1/4 the decrement value, but every question wrong on the same book stacks another 1/4th onto the next value (if that one is gotten wrong). The stack count resets with each new notebook collected.
- Refactored some of the Camera enemy's code, with some fixes included:
- Changed the Camera's rotation code if the Player is not in FOV after taking a picture. Before, if Player wasn't in its FOV, it would try to turn to the Player to get them back in sight by using their rotation, but this worked only half the time. Now it should work much more consistently.
- Fixed the Camera "respotting the Player" while already chasing the Player (playing the chase sound again).
- (Most likely) fixed Cleany sometimes breaking Camera's wander pathing after picking it up and dropping it off.
- Fixed Camera sometimes stopping going to other wander locations after reaching a wander destination.
- Re-added the trash can arrows that used to appear when you got close to one in the old versions.
- Re-added some removed item positions:
- 50 Cent in a green classroom in Corpus B.
- Soda in first Corpus B trash can.
- Soda can in the back of the hall surrounding the garden, along with some new furniture.
- Added some new item positions in the Math Level.
- Quarter in a Corpus B classroom.
- Cookie in a classroom near the end of Corpus A.
- Chocolate Bar in a classroom at the end of Corpus A.
- Migrated Player interaction code to be a lot more flexible and optimal. No real changes in gameplay as of now, although there may be some bugs for more trivial world interactions like the history level elevator.
- Optimized pumpkins and potted plants a little bit (they tick less often when the Player is farther away.)
- Fixed 11th Notebook not having RNG spawn on Brainiac (was always intended but I didn't realize it didn't work anymore after the first test).
- Fixed Viktor continuing to move if the Player is grabbed and carried by Head Teacher.
- Fixed Viktor moving as soon as the 11th Notebook music starts, rather than after it starts looping.
- Viktor also stops moving almost as soon as 10th Notebook's 5th question is answered.
- Not 100% sure if these are truly fixed, but they should be a lot less common now.
- Desks in the locked faculty room can no longer have items spawn on them.
- Fixed "jesus" items in the Math Level medbay.
- Fixed Phonty and Puppet activating before Marzia is angered.
- Fixed the Puppet not using its Halloween costume.
- Fixed a navigation waypoint for wandering enemies in the Language Level being inside a wall.
External Changes
- Audio now continues playing when the application is minimized / out of focus (i.e. alt tabbing).
- Added a proper desktop game icon (replaces UE4 logo).
- Some other information about the project (like window tab name) has also been changed.
- Some download page changes have been done as well.
